SOCIAL ORGANS

Once Upon A Time, by ANTONIOxEREZ. 2025

“Like maps of our lonely planet, all flat projections betray life’s dimensional complexity. During this decade of deep-fakes and media skepticism, seeing is not believing. Instead, for today’s cynics and what-aboutists, it’s typically the opposite: representation alone inspires doubt about whatever’s represented” […].

Anecdoctes Of A Casual Superman, by ANTONIOxEREZ, 2024

An ongoing documentation on how the American Community is built, and how Individuals can then succeed in this contemporary time of materialistic crumbling.

What psychological consequences arise from an upbringing in an unstable home? How does a person manage the grief of losing two friends during childhood, or find a sense of stability and self after migrating to different countries twice? Furthermore, in what ways does the premature loss of parents mold the internal world of an adult, and what does it truly take for an individual to find success?

These questions form the emotional and intellectual framework of Social Organs, a series that seeks to make sense of personal history while honoring the moments that have defined my path. Through this work, I have begun to categorize a constellation of experiences, particularly those shared with family and friends.

Nonetheless, despite navigating the tangled web of ideological, psychological, and political myths, one truth has become unmistakable to me: the rugged individualism championed in the United States is a facade. What I have witnessed instead is a different reality—one where we are continually mentored, guided, and supported. My own journey since leaving Spain, echoed by the countless stories I have encountered, stands as living proof.

This pattern has revealed itself repeatedly. It is found in gestures of kindness, shared meals, and moments of collective resilience. The love I have received from the community—that quiet, sustaining force of the collective—has become the enduring heartbeat of my artistic practice.
