SOCIAL  ORGANS

The project

The Social Organs project is an ongoing documentation (2022-2030) led by ANTONIOxEREZ. In collaboration with OSU professor Chris Simons Ph.D. - Sensory Science from the University of California, Davis- we will deliver a dual sensory prototype artwork for the 2027 solo show at Sharon Weiss Gallery.

This inquiry examines the capacity of the individual to serve as a supporting instrument within the social fabric of a community’s collective regeneration. Its method is the visual documentation of the social capital that surrounds me, and its point of departure is my personal background, the context from which I reflect on this capacity. 2022-2023

Between 2023 and 2024, the scope of the inquiry shifted from my immediate circle to other individuals who fulfill a comparable supporting role within their communities. In 2025, this expanded line of research took the name Social Organs.

“Like maps of our lonely planet, all flat projections betray life’s dimensional complexity. During this decade of deep-fakes and media skepticism, seeing is not believing. Instead, for today’s cynics and what-aboutists, it’s typically the opposite: representation alone inspires doubt about whatever’s represented” […].
